Important Details & Questions to Consider
Multi-Component 3D CAD Models
Please inform us upon placement of CAD order of how many parts your order must consist of so that we analyse it and structure it correctly for production from the start of the modelling process. An alteration fee will be added if the model will have to be redone to fit this purpose.
Have You Calculated Shrinkage Into Your Design?
As we work with an international client base of jewellery designers and jewellery stores it is the responsibility of the client to contact the casting house they will be using to manufacture their CAD jewellery models with to find out the shrinkage for various alloys and let us know what the size of your model to CAD.
Cleaning Up of Castings
We will produce the 3D CAD model based on the measurements you provide to us and we will send you the specs sheet once a model is complete to confirm, so please make sure to provide us with the dimensions inclusive of any metal cleaning reductions. This way your design will achieve on your manufactured CAD design as we work with a variety of jewellery designers who clean up their castings differently.
Ring Sizes
International ring sizing varies from chart to chart and due to having an international client base. After some experience we have come to a conclusion for complete accuracy that it is best for the jewellery designer/ jeweller to provide us with the Inside Diameter in Millimetres. We will only accept dimensions in millimetres. We would also highly suggest to please confirm with your casting company on the shrinkage of the alloy you will be producing your final design and calculate that into your design prior to supplying us with the dimensions. Our output 3D CAD model will be based on the dimensions provided.

Alterations to 3D CAD Model
We understand that sometimes sketched up models do not meet your expectations once modelled in 3D and we allow one complimentary alteration based on the original design specs provided to the original design plus any additional light alterations to help you produce a beautiful model. Any extra alterations that are not aligned to the original design sketch to the model or mutual agreement will be resulting in an additional fee that will be quoted.
CAD Renders
We will provide you with the final specs from all 4 views or as many view fronts as necessary to communicate and review the dimensions of the 3D CAD model. After your approval of the final 3D CAD model we provide you with 2 complimentary CAD renders without any props e.g. Earring stands, chains, etc. If you would like to have a prop in your render, we will be more than happy to produce it for you just please enquire us for a separate quote for this service.
Findings & Chains
Some jewellery designers are new to 3D CAD modelling and we are happily here to help you understand a few things if you need. Findings such as jump rings, some basic thin bails, earring posts, earrings butterfly backs are all too small to be casted for your final project. Chains are usually handmade and printing/casting each link will involve in high production costs. We recommend it is best to find a trusted jewellery findings and chain supplier in your area who you can order such ready items from to solder/laser to your casted pieces.
Confidentiality
As stated in our Privacy Policy (welcome for you to click on the link and read) all the designs submitted to us for CAD modelling and any other services are confidential and will not be reproduced by us or shared by us.
We do not accept any stolen or copied designs for CAD modelling or any other reproduction services if we know of them.
Your design belongs to you and the modelled 3D CAD model is all yours once the payment is received. We will keep a copy only for 1 year (unless you ask us to delete the file) from the date of modelling your CAD design so please save it to your back up hard drive from e-mail.
How Is The 3D CAD Model Provided?
We will provide your 3D CAD model as an STL file by e-mail. If the model will turn out as a large file which will not go via e-mail, alternatively we can arrange to send it to you on a USB drive by postal service (additional fees will apply).
Jewellery 3D CAD Design
3D CAD Modelling
What is CAD?
Computer-Aided Design is creating a digital 3D model which can be 3D printed and casted into precious metal or your choice. I can help you create any custom design that your customer desires based on your provided design sketches and measurements. The digitally created model can save you time and money from hand fabricating or traditional wax carving, as many models can be repeatedly printed and casted at once! The best part what I love about CAD is the detail and precision of the settings, your client will be able to review the piece as a render and will know exactly what they are waiting for.
My expertise in CAD modelling is focused on jewellery manufacturing standards. I will accept all challenges and designs to create (Try Me!). I will also provide you with any suggestions for your design if necessary to have the best manufacturing outcome and produce long lasting heirloom jewellery pieces your client will love and cherish.

Prior to sending you the CAD file - I will provide you with the CAD specs and all the measurements of the model for your approval in a pdf file - in a similar format to this:
