Sterling Silver with Enamel Art Collection

Enamel is a glassy mass, which, depending on the metal oxides added to it, is painted in various colours. It is a creative art form by adding colour to jewellery and it has a long ancient history. The discoverer of the painting technique with enamel is Jean Tutin a French jeweler in 1632. There is no consensus on the origin of the word Enamel. Some scholars believe that it comes from the Greek “fingeritis”, which means “light, brilliant stone”, while others believe that it came from the Byzantine word chemipet, which in turn originates from the Greek verb meaning “pouring,” melt''.

The pieces that we have selected to be in this collection are adorned with hot enamels that are painted on by hand and cold enamels using cloisonne technique. Also you will discover some scan jewellery pieces. Scan is lace from wire assembled by the patient hands of a master jeweler. Each element of the jewelry pattern is manually twisted and glued to paper, then the whole assembled pattern is sprinkled with silver powder-solder and soldered with a gas burner.

We are very proud to work with our manufacturing company that has been established for over a century preserving all the early techniques of enamel art pioneers.
